Pastry Chef Derek Corsino has been involved in the foodservice industry for over ten years. As a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, Derek has achieved accomplishments many pastry chefs dream about. He shined in the national spotlight as a three-time Food Network competitor. In the Hudson Valley, located in upstate New York, Derek put the icing on the cake in his niche business venture as a master cake designer elevating the meaning of specialty cakes.
Derek pursued his teaching passion over three years at Stratford University in Northern Virginia. He imparted his Baking and Pastry knowledge to up and coming pastry chefs who were learning everything from introductory techniques to advanced pastry arts, hospitality, and food media electives.
Now he has relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area working for several institutions of learning such as The Culinary Institute at Greystone, Copia, Livermore High School, and Santa Rosa Junior College.
